Documentary Release: ‘Documentary of B Komachi’
The live-action adaptation of Oshi no Ko by Amazon and Toei has been making waves with the drama series streaming exclusively on Prime Video. Following this success, the film Oshi no Ko – The Final Act premiered nationwide on December 20. To commemorate the project, a behind-the-scenes documentary, ‘Documentary of B Komachi,’ has been released, shedding light on the journey of the three leads: Nagisa Saito, Nanoka Hara, and Ano, over their five-month shoot.
The Formation of B Komachi
B Komachi, the idol group in the story, was formed by Ruby (Nagisa Saito), Kana (Nanoka Hara), and MEMcho (Ano), taking up the mantle of the legendary first-generation B Komachi led by idol Ai (Asuka Saito). The group transcended its fictional roots, performing promotional events for the drama and film, with music videos and live performances uploaded to the official YouTube channel.
Key Highlights of the Documentary
The documentary offers an intimate look at:
Their debut performance at Japan Idol Festival (JIF).
The making of their original song "Twilight" and its music video.
The emotional graduation concert of Kana Arima, featured in the movie.
Viewers are treated to raw moments of the trio's tireless rehearsals, candid emotions, and unwavering dedication amidst their grueling schedules. From their nervous energy before performances to their shared laughter and deepening bonds, the documentary showcases their genuine journey as B Komachi.
Emotional Reflections from the Cast
Nanoka Hara:
"Singing and dancing were a challenge for me as a first-time idol. But Nagisa and Ano always supported me, not by pushing me, but by being there, saying, ‘Let’s do our best together.’ That made me feel like we were fighting this battle as a team. I’m so grateful for this incredible dream I was allowed to experience."
Nagisa Saito:
"During tough scenes, I found myself crying on their shoulders. They became my emotional anchors. I love the B Komachi duo, and it was a joy to perform as an idol alongside them."
Ano:
"Our final stage was unforgettable. It was so moving that I almost cried. We worked so hard as a team, and while it was sad to see it end, it’s a day I’ll always cherish."
