“It Felt Like We Were a Real Group”

Q: You’ve worked closely through acting, recording, MV shoots, and even YouTube sessions as B Komachi. How would you describe your dynamic as a trio?

ano: We’re all different, but in many ways, we share similarities. We talked about everything—from music and beauty tips to perfumes and supplements. It felt like we got to know each other deeply, almost like a real idol group.

Saito: These two were so kind and fun. They listened when I talked and joined in, making conversations really enjoyable. I think that camaraderie created the warm atmosphere of B Komachi. Also, I loved asking them, “Do you like me?” just to hear them say “yes” (laughs).

Hara: Saito was the mood maker on set. She kept the atmosphere lively, so there was never an awkward silence. We even joked about food, like “I really want some meat!” (laughs).

Q: Hara plays the straight man in the show. Was that dynamic the same off-camera?

Saito: Actually, ano was more the one keeping us grounded! Hara and I were often goofing around while ano delivered clever remarks (laughs).

ano: I think I just threw in punchlines where I could (laughs).

Memorable Moments on Set

Q: Any standout memories from your time together?

Saito: Once, Hara asked me, “Can I watch one of your old MVs now?” and I was so surprised! I’d never been asked for permission to watch my work before (laughs).

Hara: Since she was right there, I thought it was polite to ask. Watching it in front of her made me smile so much—I didn’t want her to think I was weird for doing it (laughs).

Creating Original Songs for the Live-Action

Q: Three new songs were created for the project. Which one stood out to you the most?

All Three: SHINING SONG!

Hara: Just listening to it makes me want to cry.

ano: It’s emotional yet filled with hope, which I love.

Saito: The lyrics resonate deeply. Ruby’s line, “If I could be reborn, I’d believe I could meet you again,” really moved me.

Hara: I also loved Ruby’s solo line in Twilight. I kept rewinding it to listen again.

ano: Our Invincible Idol!! was one of the first songs we learned choreography for, so it left a lasting impression. It’s so energetic and fun!

Asuka Saito as Ai: A Star’s Presence

Q: Nagisa, what were your impressions of Asuka Saito as Ai?

Saito: Her aura was incredible. It really felt like she was Ai. I’ve admired her since before my idol days, so working with her was a dream come true.
