"B Komachi" – A New Generation of Idols

The group “B Komachi,” formed by Ruby (Saito), Kana (Hara), and MEMcho (Ano), carries on the legacy of the legendary idol Ai (played by Asuka Saito), who once led the original “B Komachi” as its center. Beyond the narrative, the real-world promotional activities of Oshi no Ko have gained massive traction. The group’s first video on the official “B Komachi Channel!” on YouTube reached 1 million views in just six days. Their original song, We Are Invincible Idols!!, has garnered 3.1 million views, and their second track, Twilight, reached 1.85 million views as of December 18.

In the story, “B Komachi” works tirelessly to debut at the Japan Idol Festival (JIF), performing We Are Invincible Idols!!. The song’s catchy lyrics and pop melody, reflecting their dreams of success, mesmerized the audience and marked the emergence of a new idol powerhouse.

Early Morning Rehearsals and Behind-the-Scenes Stories

To deliver their synchronized performances, the trio dedicated themselves to rigorous practice sessions, even starting at 6 AM. Nagisa Saito reflected, “We worked hard to coordinate our moves and positions from early in the morning. It was tough, but incredibly fun. After graduating from my idol career, I feel so fortunate to be given this opportunity and to work with two amazing people.”

Ano, who also has idol experience, shared, “During rehearsals, we often found ourselves saying, ‘Is this how the choreography goes?’ It felt just like real idol conversations. I was guided by these two incredible people, and the atmosphere felt like we were old friends.”

Nanoka Hara, who had no prior idol experience, confessed her struggles. “I had never sung or danced before, so everything was challenging. I often sang someone else’s part by mistake, and learning the choreography and part assignments was really hard. Watching how effortlessly the other two handled it made me respect them even more.” Despite the difficulties, she added, “The live scenes were a moment where we truly bonded as ‘B Komachi.’ It was tough, but also very rewarding.”

A Bond Forged Through Shared Efforts

Saito expressed her deep gratitude, saying, “Meeting these two (Hara and Ano) feels like a miracle. During tough scenes, I even found myself leaning on them emotionally—they became my anchor.” Hara shared, “Having these two on either side of me was incredibly reassuring. It felt like they were fighting alongside me, and that brought me so much joy.” Ano added, “There were moments where I felt so emotional I almost cried. At the end of the live scene, I even felt sad thinking, ‘Is this over already?’ It was an unforgettable day.”
