On December 20, the Los Angeles Lakers announced a special collaboration game with the hugely popular manga ONE PIECE, set to take place on February 28, 2025 (March 1, Japan time).

The Lakers shared the news on their official social media with the post titled, “Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates are joining the Lakers”

The announcement revealed, “A one-day special collaboration game between ONE PIECE and the Los Angeles Lakers will take place on Friday, February 28 (Saturday, March 1, Japan time)!” along with artwork featuring the series’ protagonist, Luffy, wearing a Lakers uniform.

Fans reacted enthusiastically to the announcement, with comments such as, “Grateful for the Luffy x Lakers artwork created just for this!” and “Next up, let’s do Dragon Ball!”
