The story is set in a world where mysterious portals, known as “Gates,” began connecting Earth to other dimensions over a decade ago. Story

More than a decade has passed since Gates began appearing worldwide, connecting Earth to other dimensions. Humanity faces an unending battle against the monsters lurking within these dungeons. Superhuman individuals known as Hunters were awakened to fight these threats, but their abilities remain fixed from the moment of awakening, with their ranks unchanging.

Among the Hunters, Jinwoo Sung, derided as the Weakest Hunter of All Mankind, struggles to survive. During a raid in a perilous Double Dungeon, Jinwoo gains the unprecedented ability to level up—a power no other Hunter possesses.

As he grows stronger through relentless battles, Jinwoo clears the Job Advancement Quest, earning the title of Shadow Monarch, a class that allows him to command an army of shadow soldiers. Driven by his desire to cure his ailing mother, Jinwoo embarks on a new journey to obtain the materials for the Elixir of Life, delving ever deeper into the mysteries of the Gates and his newfound powers.

By completing missions visible only to him through a unique interface, he can enhance his skills, increase his power, and continue to grow stronger.

Aoi Mizushino

Shun’s younger sister, aspiring to become a doctor. While preparing for her university entrance exams, she frequently visits Satoko in the hospital. She constantly worries about Shun, who continues his dangerous life as a hunter, always returning covered in injuries.

Shin Mogami

An S-Rank Hunter and Guildmaster of "Hunters," the only guild among the Big Five to have two S-Rank Hunters. A master of fire-based magic, he is known as the “Ultimate Weapon.”

As of December 5, 2024, the confirmed release schedule for "Solo Leveling" Season 2, titled "Arise from the Shadow," is as follows:

United States: Streaming on Crunchyroll starting January 2025.
