Kindaichi Hajime at 37: Married to Miyuki and Now a Father! 'Kindaichi Papa's Case Files' to Launch as Digital Manga Next January
The protagonist of the manga The Kindaichi Case Files, Kindaichi Hajime, has married his childhood friend and heroine, Nanase Miyuki, and is about to become a father. This was revealed in the latest chapter (Chapter 132) of the series' latest installment, Kindaichi 37-year-old's Case Files, which is currently serialized in Comic DAYS (published by Kodansha). The editorial department explained to ORICON NEWS, "Kindaichi has actually married Miyuki, and they've recently found out they are expecting a child."
The manga The Kindaichi Case Files started its serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 1992. It is a detective story featuring high school student Kindaichi Hajime, who is the grandson of the great detective Kindaichi Kosuke. Together with his childhood friend Miyuki and Inspector Kenmochi, Kindaichi solves one challenging case after another using his brilliant deductive skills. The series was first adapted into a live-action drama in 1995, followed by an anime adaptation in 1997.
Kindaichi 37-year-old's Case Files focuses on Kindaichi at the age of 37, now working as a salaryman at a small PR company. Despite living a seemingly mundane life, he continues to solve cases "in the name of his grandpa" as he gets caught up in various incidents.
The series also depicts the evolving relationship between Kindaichi and Miyuki, something that had not progressed much in The Kindaichi Case Files. When the series began, it was promoted as "the start of a new Kindaichi series! What's Hajime's new job? What's his relationship with Miyuki?" emphasizing the storyline involving Miyuki as a key highlight.
In the latest chapter of *Kindaichi 37-year-old's Case Files*, it was suddenly revealed that Kindaichi and Miyuki are married and Miyuki is pregnant. Additionally, it was announced that a new series titled Kindaichi Papa's Case Files will start serialization as a digital manga from January 2025.
