■Official Profile
Also known as the 'Shrimp Alien.' His catchphrase ends with 'dis.' He has powerful punches like a shrimp and distinctive round eyes.

■Dover Demon Overview
The Dover Demon is a combat-type alien with physical traits resembling a mantis shrimp.
Although referred to as "Dover Demon," the character is predominantly called "Shako" (Mantis Shrimp) in the series. He works as a "gig worker" hired by the Serpoians. Seiko Ayase nicknames him "Kappa" due to the shape of his head.

His defining features include his round, beady eyes and bright red boxing gloves. True to his appearance, he delivers powerful punches while singing a parody of ABBA’s “Chiquitita.”

Dover Demon's Back Story

The Dover Demon joined the Serpoians as a subordinate to seek treatment for his only son, Chiquitita, who suffers from a rare disease. This illness causes his body to lose blood through urine and feces, requiring regular blood transfusions for survival. Tragically, the Demon’s wife also succumbed to the same illness.

What Are Dover Demon’s Superpowers?

The Dover Demon’s most notable feature is his overwhelming punching power. His signature move, the Jet Punch, is powerful enough to demolish buildings with a single blow. Underwater, his destructive force increases tenfold, allowing him to use surrounding water currents to inflict damage on distant enemies.

Additionally, when injected with the Serpo Energy Drink by the Serpoians, he transforms into Dover Demon Strong Style 24. (This transformation references a famous Japanese energy drink commercial from the 1990s featuring the slogan "Can you fight for 24 hours?" which became symbolic of the workaholic culture among Japanese salarymen at the time.)

In this form, his appearance changes to mimic the Serpoians, becoming slimmer, with his height increasing to 1.8 meters. His combat strength is amplified 24 times, and his underwater punching power is also enhanced tenfold. However, this state lasts for only 24 minutes.

(Spoiler Warning: The following contains spoilers for the manga storyline.)

The Dover Demon’s son, Chiquitita, suffers from a rare disease that causes his body to lose blood through urine and feces, requiring regular blood transfusions for survival.

However, Seiko Ayase notices that the Dover Demon’s scent resembles the smell of “milk wiped with a rag.” When she has him try drinking milk, it astonishingly matches their blood. With Seiko’s assistance, the Demon acquires dairy cows necessary for his son’s treatment. Grateful, he expresses his thanks to Seiko and the group, promising, "If anything happens, I’ll always be on your side," before returning to his home planet.

Unfortunately, the environment on his home planet made it difficult to sustain dairy farming, forcing him to return to Earth. He now lives disguised as a human under the name Peny, working on a dairy farm.

True to his word, the Dover Demon becomes a reliable ally to Momo and her friends, showing up in critical moments to assist them

The Origin of Dover Demon

The Dover Demon is based on an unidentified creature (UMA) sighted in April 1977 in Dover, Massachusetts, USA. According to witness accounts, the creature stood about 1.2 meters tall with a gourd-shaped head and large, glowing orange or green eyes. It had no discernible nose, ears, or mouth. Its body was pink or beige in color, and its limbs were long and thin. The creature was reportedly seen standing upright, with its forelimbs resting on a tree.

The creature’s lack of fur sparked various theories about its origin, including an unknown aquatic species, a genetic mutation of a known animal, a hairless experimental escapee (such as a monkey), or an extraterrestrial being. There was even a suggestion that it might have been a misidentified moose calf. Most of the witnesses were teenagers, and no further sightings have been reported since, leaving the Dover Demon’s true identity a mystery.
