The Dover Demon is based on an unidentified creature (UMA) sighted in April 1977 in Dover, Massachusetts, USA. According to witness accounts, the creature stood about 1.2 meters tall with a gourd-shaped head and large, glowing orange or green eyes. It had no discernible nose, ears, or mouth. Its body was pink or beige in color, and its limbs were long and thin. The creature was reportedly seen standing upright, with its forelimbs resting on a tree.

The creature’s lack of fur sparked various theories about its origin, including an unknown aquatic species, a genetic mutation of a known animal, a hairless experimental escapee (such as a monkey), or an extraterrestrial being.
