3DCG Animation "Transformers/ONE" Announced: Featuring a Young Optimus Prime and Megatron

The latest installment in the "Transformers" series, which includes eight globally successful live-action movies, brings to the screen the most intense and "first" battle in series history that was deemed impossible to portray in live action, through 3DCG animation. The special preview (international teaser trailer) for "Transformers/ONE" was released simultaneously worldwide, and it has been announced that it will be released in Japan within the year. Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson are among those providing voice performances.

The teaser features young versions of Optimus Prime and Megatron, who work as labor robots in the underground city of the planet Cybertron. “Damn! This is the worst!” exclaims the robot lifeform "D-16," who has yet to become known as Megatron, venting his frustrations to a young Optimus Prime (Orion Pax). Tired of the harsh labor conditions underground, Optimus decides to lead D-16 (Megatron), B-127 (Bumblebee), and Elita-1 to the surface world.

Ignoring Megatron's warnings of "It's too dangerous!", they leap onto a train leading to the surface and make a narrow escape. Above ground, they find a world where nature and robotic lifeforms coexist beautifully on Cybertron. "It's so beautiful," marvels Elita-1. They are then greeted by a mysterious entity that bestows upon them the ability to transform, telling them, "You have been chosen. Unleash your hidden power." While initially confused, Optimus Prime and his friends begin to awaken to their new abilities. Their first attempts at transforming lead to a comical battle full of struggles. Bumblebee, who could still speak at that time, also has his moments of (questionable) glory.

Suddenly, a mysterious massive force appears on the surface, and Elita-1, persuading the group that "There's a reason for this power. We must use it," leads young Optimus Prime and Megatron into an epic battle that promises to be a heart-pounding scene. The film will explore the origins of the Transformers' abilities, the deepening shadows of war, and what is said to be the greatest battle in the history of Cybertron. It's set to be a highly anticipated film for both Transformers and movie fans alike.

Chris Hemsworth, known for his roles in "Thor," the "Avengers" series, and the upcoming "Mad Max: Furiosa," voices a young Optimus Prime. Megatron is voiced by Brian Tyree Henry ("Godzilla vs. Kong: A New Empire"), and Scarlett Johansson, known from the "Avengers" series and "Black Widow," plays Elita-1. The film is directed by Josh Cooley, famed for "Toy Story 4," who passionately brings to life the young Transformers' friendships.
