The second episode of the new TV anime "Dragon Ball DAIMA" aired on Fuji TV on the 18th, revealing that as Goku and Vegeta have turned into children, the voice cast for some main characters has changed. Masako Nozawa continues in her role as Son Goku, while the role of Vegeta has shifted from Ryo Horikawa to Yudai Mino, who voices Vegeta (Mini).
Other cast changes include Mai Nakahara taking over the role of Bulma from Aya Hisakawa, Tomohiro Yamaguchi replacing Toshio Furukawa as Piccolo, Aki Kanada taking over Krillin from Mayumi Tanaka, and Ai Kakuma replacing Naoko Watanabe as Chi-Chi.
"Dragon Ball DAIMA" is a completely new anime series with an original episode written by Akira Toriyama. Toriyama was deeply involved in the production, from the story and character design to the many details such as vehicles, monsters, and mob characters. The story follows Goku and others who have been shrunk due to a conspiracy, as they set out into a mysterious and unknown world to solve the problem.
"Dragon Ball" began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in 1984 and ran for about ten and a half years, establishing itself as one of Japan's most iconic manga. The comics have surpassed 260 million copies worldwide, and even after the manga's conclusion, it has continued to captivate fans through TV anime, movies, games, and various other media adaptations.
In 2013, the series' theatrical film returned for the first time in 17 years, becoming a major hit. This was followed by "Dragon Ball Super," based on the original concept by Akira Toriyama, which began in 2015. In 2022, the movie "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero" was released.
