AI Performs 'Dragon Ball DAIMA' Ending Theme in Tears
On the 6th, artist AI made an appearance at the "Dragon Ball Daimatsuri" world premiere screening event with a stage greeting, held at Tokyo Big Sight to celebrate the 40th anniversary of "DRAGON BALL." She performed the ending theme of the new anime for the first time, singing passionately while tears welled up in her eyes.
AI, who is in charge of the ending theme "NAKAMA" for the new series Dragon Ball DAIMA, which will air from 11:40 p.m. on the 11th, recalled with tears that while she was overjoyed to be selected for the role, she also felt anxious about how fans would receive it. During the first live performance of "NAKAMA," she sang powerfully, even as tears glistened in her eyes, resonating throughout the venue.
The event also featured a 40th-anniversary ceremony where Masako Nozawa, who voices Son Goku and Mini Son Goku, along with executive producer Akio Iyoku, broke a ceremonial ball together with Goku. Additionally, singer-songwriter duo C&K, who are responsible for the opening theme "Jaka☆Jaan," performed the song for the first time. The first episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA was screened, with a large crowd of Dragon Ball fans eagerly watching.
Koki Uchiyama and Fairouz Ai also appeared on stage.
This completely new anime series, featuring an entirely new episode written by the late manga artist Akira Toriyama, who passed away on March 1st, marks the first Dragon Ball TV anime in six years since the conclusion of Dragon Ball Super in March 2018. It will also be the first time the series airs in a late-night slot.
