[New DB] New Trailer and Cast Revealed for Dragon Ball DAIMA Featuring Theme by Grammy Winner Zedd, Yukinojo Mori, and C&K
New details have been released for the highly anticipated anime series Dragon Ball DAIMA, which premieres on October 11th at 11:40 PM on Fuji TV. The second main visual, official trailer, additional cast members, and theme song information have all been revealed. The opening theme, "Jaka☆Jan," was written specifically for Dragon Ball DAIMA by Grammy-winning artist Zedd, in collaboration with lyricist Yukinojo Mori and the duo C&K. This marks an exciting collaboration between international and Japanese music talents.
Dragon Ball DAIMA is a brand-new original anime series based on a completely new story written by Akira Toriyama. Toriyama was deeply involved in the production, contributing to the story, character designs, and more. The series explores a mysterious world where Goku and his friends, who have been shrunk due to a dark conspiracy, embark on a grand adventure.
In the first visual, a new character named Pangee was seen wearing a mask and cape, but the second visual reveals her true face. The tagline has also changed from "Welcome to a Grand Adventure!!" to "Welcome to the Great Demon World!!," hinting that the adventure will take place in a world known as the "Great Demon World."
The new trailer showcases a strange new world that has never been seen before in the Dragon Ball series. It begins with a mysterious spell and follows miniaturized versions of Goku and the Supreme Kai, along with new characters Glorio and Pangee, as they navigate the Great Demon World. The dynamic scenes are set to the beat of the energetic opening theme song.
Voice actress Yumiko Kobayashi will play the role of the miniaturized Supreme Kai, while Koki Uchiyama will voice the new character Glorio, and Ai Fairouz will bring Pangee to life. These new additions to the cast bring fresh energy to the beloved Dragon Ball universe.
Comments:
Yumiko Kobayashi as Mini Supreme Kai: "Dragon Ball has always been a life-changing series for me, so just auditioning was already a dream come true. I can't believe I was actually chosen! I hope Dragon Ball DAIMA delivers unforgettable adventures to everyone watching. Please enjoy it!"
Koki Uchiyama as Glorio: "I never thought I would be able to appear in Dragon Ball, so it's an honor to be part of it. Whether you're a die-hard fan or new to the series, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The action and stunning visuals are incredible—each episode is packed with surprises, so please watch until the end!"
Ai Fairouz as Pangee: "It's truly an honor to be involved in such a globally beloved series as Dragon Ball. I believe DAIMA encapsulates the essence of the Dragon Ball universe. The series takes viewers on a journey to various fascinating locations, each filled with its own drama, offering a thrilling experience as if you're adventuring alongside the characters. Please look forward to it!"
Zedd's Comment:
"I can’t believe I was even considered to produce music for Dragon Ball. I’ve been a huge fan since I was a kid, and I never imagined that a day would come when I’d get to be involved with such an iconic series. Writing the theme song and score has been a dream come true. It feels like a dream to be able to create music for something I’ve loved since childhood."
Yukinojo Mori's Comment:
"Thanks to Dragon Ball, I've been able to push the limits of my lyrics multiple times. However, I secretly feared whether my words could keep up with Goku, who has become stronger over the years (laughs). But as expected of Toriyama-sensei! With DAIMA, he's slightly shifted the focus from 'battles' to 'adventure,' leading us to an exciting new journey. When you're feeling down and your heart feels small, remember the friends from DAIMA and hum this fanfare that we created with Zedd and C&K. May it give you the courage to take your next step."
CLIEVY's Comment (from C&K):
"I thought it was some kind of prank. My honest reaction was, 'Are we really the right fit for such a huge role?'"
KEEN's Comment (from C&K):
"When we received the offer to be part of Dragon Ball, which I’ve loved since childhood, my heart was filled with excitement! I’m looking forward to seeing how the new Dragon Ball DAIMA will become an inspiring masterpiece for both kids and adults. I’m so proud that artists like us were given the opportunity to be involved!"
