Compared to the series' previous top-grossing film, "Detective Conan: The Submarine of Black Iron" (released on April 14, 2023, with a total box office of 13.88 billion yen), this latest installment achieved 112% of its predecessor’s first-day earnings, marking a mega-hit start with potential to set a new series record.

This installment's story unfolds in Hakodate, where Heiji Hattori clashes with Kaito Kid. Heiji, who keeps missing opportunities to confess his love to Kazuha, finds himself up against his fateful rival, Kid... In a past case involving the Conch Pearl "Fairy's Lip," Heiji almost kissed Kazuha, who Kid had disguised himself as. Can Heiji, who turns into a bumbling detective when Kazuha is involved, pay back Kid and finally confess his feelings in this latest movie? Other characters watching over Heiji and Kazuha include Momiji Ooka, Iori Muga, and Soshi Okita.

At the premiere event held in Tokyo on the 13th, the stellar voice cast, including Minami Takayama (Conan Edogawa), Wakana Yamazaki (Ran Mouri), Kappei Yamaguchi (Kaito Kid), Ryo Horikawa (Heiji Hattori), Yuko Miyamura (Kazuha Toyama), and Yo Oizumi (Yoshihisa Kawaizoe), appeared on stage.
