The live-action short drama Kosaku Shima's Tweets, based on the original Section Chief Kosaku Shima, has been announced for distribution. Supported by KDDI and produced by Asahi Broadcasting Television (ABC TV), the smartphone-optimized short drama will be available on platforms such as YouTube starting from October 7. Episodes will be released on weekdays at 7:00 AM and noon.

Section Chief Kosaku Shima, serialized in Kodansha’s Morning magazine by Kenshi Hirokane, follows the realistic challenges of a businessperson, highlighting socioeconomic and political dynamics as Kosaku rises through the ranks. With over 47 million copies sold, the series continues today as Outside Director Kosaku Shima.

This live-action adaptation has been filmed specifically for smartphones in vertical format. Akira Nakao stars as Kosaku Shima, with Hina Higuchi as Kumiko Omachi, Ayame Misaki as Noriko Majima, and Ikkei Watanabe as Kiichi Nakazawa. The narration is provided by Chihiro Kato, also known as Cent Chihiro Chicchi. The story captures the ups and downs of Kosaku’s career, family life, and occasional romances. This business short drama explores the survival skills of a "super salaryman."

Additionally, a special program discussing the Kosaku Shima series will be available on TELASA/Ponta Pass from October 18 (six episodes planned). Alongside the drama’s lead actor Akira Nakao, comedians Mitsunori Fukuda (Tutorial) and Hide (Penalty), both avid fans of the series, will appear.
