"Film Version Nintama Rantaro" Behind-the-Scenes Footage of Visual Production Released: A Different Look for Doi Sensei… Project Proposal Unveiled for the First Time
A making-of video capturing the behind-the-scenes process of creating the teaser visuals for the animated movie "Film Version Nintama Rantaro: Dokutake Ninja Team’s Strongest Strategist" (set for release in December) has been unveiled.
Born from Amako Soubee's manga "Rakudai Ninja Rantaro," the nationally beloved TV anime "Nintama Rantaro" is cherished by many. The story is the first visual adaptation based on the novel "Rakudai Ninja Rantaro: Dokutake Ninja Team’s Strongest Strategist," published in 2013, and is among the most eagerly awaited films to be animated.
On "Nintama Day" (the anniversary of the first broadcast of Nintama Rantaro), a making-of video titled as a special project was released, showing the behind-the-scenes process of creating the super teaser visual. The video reveals the project proposal for the visual for the first time, showing that in the initial stages, the image of Doi Sensei was quite different.
The video captures the meetings at the production site and the transformation of the character design by Emiko Niiyama from rough sketches to refined drawings, leading to the final visual. With detailed attention to elements such as Doi Sensei's gaze and the firmly grasped attendance book, a piece filled with dedication was created.
