Dr.STONE Final Season (Season 4) to Air in Three Split Cours Starting Next Year; Original Art Exhibition to Celebrate Anime's 5th Anniversary
The final season of the TV anime "Dr.STONE," titled "Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE," has been announced to air in 2025 in three split cours. Along with this announcement, a teaser visual has been released.
The teaser visual shows Senku gazing intently at the moon floating in the vast, endless starry sky. It captures Senku’s childhood dream of "Going to the moon, and going there immediately." As Senku has overcome countless challenges and grown alongside his friends, what future does he now envision? What kind of developments await Senku and his team in this final chapter? The final season will depict the epic story spanning time, unfolding in the Stone World.
In celebration of the anime's 5th anniversary, an original art exhibition has been announced. The exhibition will kick off in November 2024 in Tokyo (Yurakucho) and will then tour other cities, including Fukuoka (Hakata) and Osaka (Namba).
"Dr.STONE" is a popular series that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from March 2017 to March 2022, with its manga having surpassed 17 million copies in circulation. Set in a world where all of humanity has been petrified, it is a sci-fi survival adventure that spans 2 million years of scientific history, from the Stone Age to modern civilization.
Thousands of years have passed since all of humanity was turned to stone in an instant due to a mysterious phenomenon. The story follows Senku, a boy with a superhuman intellect, as he uses science to create modern items like medicine, cell phones, and Japanese swords from scratch, all while rebuilding civilization with his friends. The first season of the TV anime aired from July to December 2019, the second season from January to March 2021, and the first cour of the third season from April to June 2023, with the second cour airing from October to December 2023.
