The latest work "SANDA" by Paru Itagaki, the author of the popular manga "BEASTARS," concluded with great acclaim in the 32nd issue of "Weekly Shōnen Champion" (Akita Shoten), released today, the 11th. Alongside the final chapter, the announcement of its anime adaptation was made.

Set in a near-future Japan where children are overly protected, "SANDA" portrays a unique Santa Claus hero action story. The animation will be produced by Science SARU, known for acclaimed works such as "Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!" and "Dandadan." Science SARU has garnered significant attention both in Japan and globally, with nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature for "INU-OH" and winning the Shanghai International Film Festival's Golden Goblet Award for Best Animation for "Your Colors."

Along with the anime adaptation announcement, a teaser visual was also released. It features a muscular elderly man, seemingly Santa Claus, in a red hood, with a shadow extending from him that takes the form of a young boy, sparking curiosity about their relationship.

In response to the anime adaptation announcement, Itagaki commented, "I started this manga with the thought, 'I want to draw characters that move dramatically!' So, I'm thrilled about the anime adaptation! I'm grateful to the readers and Science SARU."
