The main video for the Netflix series "Parasyte -The Grey-" (exclusively streaming from April 5th) will be available for streaming on Netflix starting tomorrow, the 5th.

Based on the manga "Parasyte" by Hitoshi Iwaaki (published by Kodansha), this series imagines a scenario where parasitic beings that mimic and prey on humans, known as "Parasites," invade South Korea. It portrays the strange coexistence of the lonely protagonist Jeong Su-in (played by Jeong So-ni) and the parasite "Hyde".

Su-in, who has been abandoned by his mother and abused by his father, leads a life of mere existence, burdened by the painful belief that "no one loves me". Amidst this, an incident transforms him into a hybrid, neither human nor parasite, plunging him into despair.

Another outcast is Seol Gang-woo (played by Koo Gyo-hwan), a member of a semi-legal organization who becomes a fugitive from his group after failing an assassination. Hiding in his family home, he encounters his sister, who "seems different". Despite asking about his sister's whereabouts, the sister-like figure only responds that she "went far away". These two individuals each follow the trail of parasites masquerading as humans, eventually leading them to the mysterious Sejin Church, a hideout for parasites plotting a human takeover for survival.

The released footage features thrilling scenes of them being discovered while infiltrating and fleeing from pursuers, with Su-in's resident parasite, Hyde, fighting back using tentacles that can freely transform, creating fast-paced action scenes filled with tension and the unfolding of a fierce battle. How will these two face this dire situation? The footage hints at a complex theme beyond "human vs. parasite", with parasites also harboring their own motives and choosing to fight among themselves.

Directed by Yeon Sang-ho of "Train to Busan" fame, who expressed deep affection for the original manga: "During my student days, 'Parasyte' was like a bible to me. I was a fan of the original work. I fell deeply in love with its world and started imagining what lies beyond the parts depicted in the manga." The original manga is a grand story with a unique world view that includes intense depictions of conflicts between humans and parasites, thrilling developments, environmental issues, and profound themes such as "What is human?" and "How should humans be?" This series also weaves elements of justice and evil, beyond the simple dichotomy of "humans being attacked vs. attacking parasites", including parasites that ally with humans and traitors among humans.
