"Oshi no Ko" is a story set in the entertainment industry, serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha) since April 2020. The protagonist, Gorou, who works as an obstetrician, meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino, but after dying in an incident, he is reincarnated as Ai's child. This event sets him on a path to enter the same entertainment industry as her.

The original manga is written by Aka Akasaka, known for the popular manga "Kaguya-sama: Love is War," and it won first place in the comics division of the "Next Manga Awards 2021." The story features not only idols and actors but also behind-the-scenes staff like directors and producers, portraying the entertainment world realistically. The TV anime aired from April to June 2023.

Additionally, the opening theme song "Idol" by YOASOBI achieved first place in both the latest "Oricon Weekly Digital Single (Single Song) Ranking" and "Oricon Weekly Streaming Ranking" announced on June 28. The weekly playback count was 26,011,303 times, marking the first time in Oricon history to exceed 20 million weekly plays for ten consecutive weeks. The series is also set to be adapted into a live-action production this winter, with the drama series exclusively streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime Video and the movie distributed by Toei for theatrical release.

The second season of the anime will start airing in July, covering the "Tokyo Blade" arc, depicting Aqua, Kana Arima, and Akane Kurokawa as they perform in this 2.5-dimensional stage play.
