Yona of the Dawn Anime Sequel to Be Produced by PIERROT FILMS

New information has been revealed for the upcoming Yona of the Dawn anime sequel, with PIERROT FILMS confirmed to handle animation production. The sequel itself was first announced in December 2025. The original manga concluded in 2025 after a 16-year serialization in Hana to Yume.

Yona of the Dawn Manga Reaches Final Volume as Anime Sequel Moves Forward

Yona of the Dawn follows Princess Yona, whose father is killed in a rebellion led by her cousin Su-won, for whom she had feelings. Forced to leave her home, Yona grows through encounters with various people as she faces her destiny.

The manga was serialized in Hana to Yume from 2009 to 2025 and has surpassed 15 million copies in circulation.

Its TV anime aired from 2014 to 2015. The series was also adapted for the stage in 2016 with Risa Niigaki in the lead role and again in 2018 starring Rina Ikoma, followed by a musical production in 2024.

The manga's final volume, Volume 48, was released on October 20.
