Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING Anime Announced with New Trailer, Continuing the Story Beyond the Finale

Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING, a new anime continuing the story of the Dr. STONE series, has been announced. It will adapt “TERRAFORMING,” the sequel story set after the conclusion of the main series and collected in Volume 27 of the original manga.

Announcement Trailer Unveiled at STONE FES.2026

The announcement was made at STONE FES.2026 on October 10. The announcement trailer, shown on a giant screen at the venue, revisits the history of the scientific creations Senku and his companions have built, before a storm suddenly appears with fierce bolts of lightning.

The title “TERRAFORMING” appears alongside Senku’s line, “This is exhilarating,” newly recorded for the trailer. The footage hints at a new adventure of scientific discovery and invention for Senku and his companions.

Celebratory comments from Dr. STONE manga writer Riichiro Inagaki and artist Boichi were also released.

Comments from Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi

Riichiro Inagaki, Dr. STONE Manga Writer
“Thank you to everyone watching STONE FES.2026! The Dr. STONE anime actually adapted the manga all the way through its final chapter. I was overwhelmed with emotion.

“But guess what! There is still more to come...!! That wasn’t a lie! After all, Senku and his companions’ scientific adventures were still continuing. Actually, that is the kind of lie I would gladly welcome! You can even say, ‘Just kidding about this being the finale!’ for this finale event!

“So, everyone, please keep following Senku and his companions’ scientific endeavors for just a little longer. This is absolutely exhilarating!!”

Boichi, Dr. STONE Manga Artist
“To everyone attending STONE FES.2026, everyone watching the livestream, and everyone who watches the Dr. STONE anime, thank you so much for your continued support!

“I am truly delighted to share with all of you the joy of the news that Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING is being made into an anime. Please look forward to further updates!”
