BLEACH: Ichigo Kurosaki Finally Undergoes Partial Hollowfication, Awakening His Dormant Hollow Blood

Episode 43 of the anime BLEACH: Thousand Year Blood War: The Calamity, titled “BLOOD FOR MY BONE,” aired on August 8 on the TV Tokyo network.

The episode finally featured Ichigo in his “partial Hollowfication” form in the anime itself. A new visual titled “THE STORIES VISUAL: Partial Hollowfication,” depicting Ichigo in this form, was also unveiled.

Having awakened the Hollow blood dormant within himself and entered partial Hollowfication, how will Ichigo fight against Yhwach, whose overwhelming power stands in his way? The battle between the Soul Reapers and the Quincies continues to grow even more intense.

BLEACH: Thousand Year Blood War: The Calamity Heads Toward Its Final Battle

BLEACH, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 to 2016, tells the story of protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki, who gains the powers of a Soul Reaper after meeting Rukia Kuchiki, and follows the exploits of Ichigo and his companions.

The manga has more than 130 million copies in circulation. The series has also been adapted into video games, while a live action film starring Sota Fukushi was released in 2018. The original television anime aired from 2004 through 2012.

The anime adaptation of the final arc, Thousand Year Blood War, aired its first part from October through December 2022, its second part from July through September 2023, and its third part from October through December 2024. The final part, BLEACH: Thousand Year Blood War: The Calamity, has been airing since July 2026.

In BLEACH: Thousand Year Blood War: The Calamity, Ichigo learns Uryu Ishida’s true intentions and renews his determination to protect the world together with him as friends who trust each other.

Meanwhile, Yhwach has become an existence that surpasses even The Almighty. The fierce battle for the survival of the Three Worlds approaches its end.
