Episode 1 Story

On the night of the Qixi Festival (Kikkousetsu), the maiden Kou Reirin has her body swapped with the despised Shu Keigetsu. However, Reirin is actually delighted by this...?

Introduction

The "Suuguu" (Maiden Court) is a palace where princesses from five noble families are gathered to be raised as candidates for the next crown princess. Among them, Reirin, the beautiful and intelligent princess of the prestigious Kou family, is adored by everyone around her and celebrated as "His Highness's Butterfly."

However, on the night of the Kikkou Festival, her body is swapped with that of Keigetsu, a princess from the Shu family who is widely loathed and branded as a villainess. By the time Reirin realizes what has happened, she is informed that her execution has already been decided, plunging her into a desperate, no-win situation.

Yet, having lived constantly on the verge of death due to a frail and sickly constitution since childhood, Reirin is instead overjoyed just to have obtained a healthy body!

Though the body swap seemed like an utter tragedy, the iron-willed Reirin thoroughly enjoys her newfound freedom even after being exiled to a dilapidated shack. With her innate brightness and kindness, she charms those who seek her life and relentlessly overcomes one adversity after another. Meanwhile, Keigetsu, who had envied and hated Reirin, finds her own heart beginning to waver as she experiences Reirin’s true character first-hand.
