Sparks of Tomorrow Episode 1 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Kyoto Animation's Steampunk Boy-Meets-Girl Adventure
The story and preview images for Episode 1 of the TV anime Sparks of Tomorrow (JP: 二十世紀電氣目録-ユーレカ・エヴリカ-) have been revealed. This episode will air on Sunday, July 5 at 11:00 PM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.
Episode 1 Story
"Together, we'll make the 20th century the Age of Electricity!"
The protagonist, Kihachi Sakamoto, records his visions for future electrical inventions in the 20th Century Electrical Catalog and vows with his admired older brother, Seiroku, to make those dreams a reality. However, Seiroku takes the catalog with him when he goes off to war and is killed in action, leaving the Electrical Catalog lost and its whereabouts unknown.
As the years pass, Kihachi's stagnant life is set in motion once more after a fateful encounter with Inako Momokawa, the daughter of a sake-brewing family. Meanwhile, Yosuke Mizoe, the heir to a powerful steam-industry conglomerate, is also searching for the lost catalog. He pressures the Momokawa family into an arranged marriage with Inako in exchange for financial support.
Fleeing from Yosuke, Inako reunites with Kihachi, and she is carrying something that should have been lost forever—the 20th Century Electrical Catalog...!!
