Star Detective Precure! Episode 21 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Who Is Cure Eclair? The Eliza Kurusu Arc Begins

The story and preview images for Episode 21 of the new anime Star Detective Precure! (JP: 名探偵プリキュア！), the 23rd installment in the long running Precure series, have been revealed. The episode will air on June 21 at 8:30 AM (JST).

Episode 21 Story

Eliza Kurusu once again visits the Curett Detective Agency. Declaring, “I’m going to become a detective!”, Eliza explains that the smile of a client whose missing cat, Miiko, she helped find previously ignited her detective spirit. She passionately asks to be allowed to join the detective agency.

As Anna and the others react in surprise, Eliza’s editor, Yoriko Henmi, arrives shortly afterward. With a novel deadline fast approaching, Yoriko attempts to take Eliza home. However, after observing the situation, Mikuru Kobayashi explains that joining the agency requires passing a strict test: successfully solving a requested case.
Unfortunately, no clients appear.

While waiting, Eliza is given a tour of the agency. During the tour, she notices a photograph of a blue butterfly that Anna and her friends discovered at the water tower. At that moment, Pochitan suddenly cries out.

Attached to Yoriko’s cellphone is a plush keychain of Detective Ellie, and it contains a Makoto Jewel. Before anyone realizes what is happening, the keychain is stolen, setting a new mystery into motion.

Introduction

Star Detective Precure introduces the first detective themed Precure storyline in the franchise and is set primarily in 1999. The protagonist Anna Akechi is a 14 year old second year middle school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is guided by a mysterious pendant found in her room, triggering a time slip from the year 2027 back to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, Anna meets another 14 year old girl, Mikuru Kobayashi, who dreams of becoming a great detective. When a series of incidents begin to occur, the two girls find themselves unable to ignore people suffering from stolen treasured possessions. Together, they transform into the Star Detective Precure, solving mysteries with the catchphrase “That mystery will be cured” while protecting smiles through sharp deduction and searching for clues that may allow Anna to return to her original time.
