Star Detective Precure! Episode 19 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Anna and Mikuru Set Off on Their School Trip

The story and preview images for Episode 19 of the new anime Star Detective Precure! (JP: 名探偵プリキュア！), the 23rd installment in the long running Precure series, have been revealed. The episode will air on June 7 at 8:30 AM (JST).

Episode 19 Story

Anna Akechi and Mikuru Kobayashi set off on a school trip by train together with their classmates.

The trip’s student committee chair, Yumi, has thoroughly researched everything from the meals to the hot springs at their destination, filling the travel itinerary booklet with detailed notes.

However, when a trolley attendant passes through the train and Yumi briefly looks away, her itinerary booklet suddenly disappears. At the same moment, Pochitan reacts, prompting Anna and Mikuru to chase after the attendant.

Just as they suspected, the attendant is actually Gouemon in disguise. With 30 minutes remaining until the next station, Gouemon declares that all he has to do is escape within the train. He then activates the same Karakuri Maze he previously used at the academy and invites the two girls into the “Labyrinth Train.”

After solving a ticket-themed puzzle set by Gouemon, Anna and Mikuru board the Labyrinth Train. The first car they enter is a dining car, but as the train emerges from a tunnel and the surroundings brighten once again, the screams of passengers suddenly echo throughout the train.

Introduction

Star Detective Precure introduces the first detective themed Precure storyline in the franchise and is set primarily in 1999. The protagonist Anna Akechi is a 14 year old second year middle school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is guided by a mysterious pendant found in her room, triggering a time slip from the year 2027 back to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, Anna meets another 14 year old girl, Mikuru Kobayashi, who dreams of becoming a great detective. When a series of incidents begin to occur, the two girls find themselves unable to ignore people suffering from stolen treasured possessions. Together, they transform into the Star Detective Precure, solving mysteries with the catchphrase “That mystery will be cured” while protecting smiles through sharp deduction and searching for clues that may allow Anna to return to her original time.
