Netflix Unveils New Anime “THE ONE PIECE” by WIT STUDIO with Teaser Trailer and East Blue Concept Art

On April 7 JST, Netflix announced multiple updates related to the ONE PIECE franchise. Among them was the release of a new teaser trailer for THE ONE PIECE, a project that will reanimate the story beginning with the East Blue arc.

On the same day, it was also revealed that the live action series ONE PIECE Season 3 will be exclusively streamed worldwide in 2027 under the title ONE PIECE The Battle of Alabasta, alongside the official animation logo. In addition, a brand new animated special LEGO ONE PIECE was officially announced for exclusive streaming starting September 29, with its first trailer also released.

The original work is the manga ONE PIECE by Eiichiro Oda, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump published by Shueisha. The story follows the adventures of Monkey D Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates, and has surpassed 600 million copies in circulation worldwide.

THE ONE PIECE is produced by WIT STUDIO and will newly adapt the East Blue arc, which serves as the origin of the story. Separate from the long running TV anime series that has continued for over 25 years, this new project aims to explore modern visual expression while depicting Luffy and his crew’s journey in a way that feels both nostalgic and new.

The newly released teaser showcases character design sheets and image boards, featuring Luffy and other East Blue characters. It also hints at the presence of a certain mysterious figure, offering a glimpse into the renewed world of ONE PIECE.

As the global phenomenon of ONE PIECE continues to expand, new adventures are set to unfold across Netflix’s vast ocean of content.
