Star Detective Precure! Movie Announced for September 18 Release: Cure Arcana Shadow and Cure Eclair Remain Shrouded in Mystery in First Footage

The production of the new anime film *Star Detective Precure!* has been officially announced, with a theatrical release set for September 18. Alongside the announcement, a teaser trailer and teaser visual have also been unveiled.

The teaser visual prominently features a suncatcher at the center, refracting sunlight through transparent, colorful stones to scatter sparkling light throughout the space. This suggests that the item will play a key role in the story. Inside the suncatcher, fans can see the cheerful expressions of Cure Answer and Cure Mystique, as well as the long-mysterious Cure Arcana Shadow and Cure Eclair, whose appearances have yet to be fully revealed in the TV series.

Also depicted are Jett-senpai, Pochitan, Mashutan, and Shushutan peering into the scene. The visual raises anticipation for how the four Precure will interact and what kind of roles they will play in the film.

Additionally, the back of the teaser flyer includes a coloring page, which has been very popular with children every year. It will be distributed sequentially at theaters nationwide starting on the 10th.

Star Detective Precure! marks the first installment in the franchise to feature detective-themed Precure, set in the year 1999. The protagonist, Anna Akechi, is a 14-year-old second-year middle school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is guided by a pendant in her room, leading her to time travel from 2027 back to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, she meets Mikuru Kobayashi, a 14-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a great detective. When incidents begin to occur, the two girls, unable to ignore those in need whose precious belongings have been stolen, transform into the “Star Detective Precure.” Declaring, “That mystery! Solved by Cure!” they protect smiles through deduction while searching for clues to help Anna return to her original time.
