Jett-senpai’s Mysterious Spell and Missing Goggles During Shop Preparations: Star Detective Precure! Episode 8 Story & Preview Cuts Released

The story and preview images for Episode 8 of the new TV anime Star Detective Precure! (JP: 名探偵プリキュア！), the 23rd installment in the long-running Precure franchise, have been revealed. The series is set to begin airing on March 22.

Episode 8 Story

After being surprised by the cute outfit Jett-senpai made for Pochitan, Anna Akechi and Mikuru Kobayashi suggest turning the Pre-Kit inventions into merchandise and opening a shop. They quickly begin preparations.

While developing products, Anna and Mikuru hear Jett-senpai chanting a mysterious spell, “Puri Puri, Pretty Smile,” and head into the lab. When asked about his favorite goggles, Jett-senpai begins to share memories from his time honing his invention skills in his workshop.

Although Jett-senpai once believed that functionality was the most important aspect of an invention, the creations made by his grandmother fairy, Shinian, were always cute and the most popular. The phrase “Puri Puri, Pretty Smile” is a charm he learned from Shinian, and the goggles were also a treasured item he received from her when he graduated from the workshop.

As preparations for the shop continue, storage cases, flowers, and sweets are delivered to the office. However, just as they are about to pay for the items, Jett-senpai’s treasured goggles suddenly go missing.

Introduction

Star Detective Precure introduces the first detective themed Precure storyline in the franchise and is set primarily in 1999. The protagonist Anna Akechi is a 14 year old second year middle school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is guided by a mysterious pendant found in her room, triggering a time slip from the year 2027 back to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, Anna meets another 14 year old girl, Mikuru Kobayashi, who dreams of becoming a great detective. When a series of incidents begin to occur, the two girls find themselves unable to ignore people suffering from stolen treasured possessions. Together, they transform into the Star Detective Precure, solving mysteries with the catchphrase “That mystery will be cured” while protecting smiles through sharp deduction and searching for clues that may allow Anna to return to her original time.
