The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes Set for 2027 Release with New Cast Member Yukari Tamura

The Eminence in Shadow Movie Lost Echoes (JP: 陰の実力者になりたくて！残響編, Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! Zankyo hen) is officially set for release in 2027, marking the first theatrical anime adaptation of the popular series. Alongside this announcement, a second teaser trailer, teaser visual, and story details have been revealed. It was also announced that Yukari Tamura will join the cast as Yuka Asakura, a new character appearing in the film.

A New Story Set in Modern Japan

Following the final episode of the second season, Cid is suddenly transported to Japan, the world where he lived before his reincarnation. The upcoming film Lost Echoes will take place in this modern Japan setting.

The story depicts Cid reuniting with a woman who knows his past life, a world devastated by magical beasts, and the conspiracies swirling among its remaining people. As chaos engulfs a ruined Japan, Shadow descends upon the scene, bringing the story into a new stage set in the modern world.

A boy who longed to become “an eminence in shadow” lost his life before achieving his dream, only to be reincarnated in another world as Cid Kagenou.
In his new life, he operates from the shadows, playing the role of Shadow and leading the organization Shadow Garden to defeat the Cult of Diabolos, all while treating it as part of his fantasy.

However, the Cult of Diabolos is real, and unbeknownst to him, Shadow Garden has been engaged in a genuine conflict with the organization.

After defeating Mordred, one of the cult’s top executives, Shadow is suddenly pulled into a gate leading to another world. Alongside Beta, who follows him, he arrives in Japan, the place where he once lived as Minoru Kageno.

This Japan is now a devastated world overrun by magical beasts. Humanity survives in a remaining stronghold known as Messiah. There, he encounters Akane, a former classmate from his previous life.
