Kaiju Girl Caramelise Anime Set for July Release With First Main Visual and PV Revealed

Kaiju Girl Caramelise (JP: 乙女怪獣キャラメリゼ) is set to premiere in July, with its broadcast scheduled on TBS and other networks. Alongside the announcement, the first main visual and main promotional video have been released, as well as a new project designed to enhance the viewing experience.

First Main Visual Teases Love and Destruction

The newly released main visual features Kuroe Akaishi, who suffers from a mysterious illness, alongside the massive kaiju Harugon roaring toward the sky. What lies beyond their gaze hints at the secret Kuroe carries and foreshadows a story filled with both romance and destruction. The visual delivers a striking impression that captures the emotional core of the series.

Main PV Highlights Characters and Kaiju Action

The first main promotional video introduces the central characters through interactions with Kuroe, while also showcasing more intense scenes of the giant kaiju Harugon. These sequences combine CG and animation to create a powerful and dynamic viewing experience.

“Sweet Caramelise Kuroe Kawaii Project” Launches

A new initiative titled “Sweet Caramelise Chloe Kawaii Project” has also been launched to further promote the series. The project focuses on delivering the charm of protagonist Kuroe in various forms. By highlighting the contrast between the adorable nature of a girl in love and the overwhelming scale of a kaiju, the project aims to deepen fans’ attachment to both the story and its characters.

The first installment features popular cosplayer COCO, who has over 176000 followers on X. COCO fully recreates Kuroe’s appeal, from her school uniform to detailed special effects makeup representing the symptoms of her mysterious illness.

About the Original Work

The original manga Kaiju Girl Caramelise by Spica Aoki has been serialized in Monthly Comic Alive since 2018. The story follows high school girl Kuroe Akaishi, who suffers from an unexplained illness and falls in love with Arata Minami, the most popular boy at school.

While rooted in classic shojo manga elements, the story takes a dramatic turn when Kuroe’s romantic feelings intensify, causing a giant kaiju named Harugon to suddenly appear in Tokyo. This unexpected fusion of romance and monster action redefines the genre as a large scale love comedy.
