Although he faced Sukuna head on, he was quickly overwhelmed. He survived Sukuna’s initial attack, “Dismantle,” without suffering fatal damage, but was then struck by “Cleave,” which killed him instantly before he could use his technique.

Despite being defeated swiftly, Sukuna acknowledged his strength, remarking that he had expected to slice him into three pieces but found him tougher than anticipated.
In a later reflection, Sukuna also noted that Ishigori was even more durable than Rika, stating that he could not inflict fatal damage without direct contact.
