The latest box office revenue information for the completely new anime movie "Haikyuu!! Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump" (released on February 16) has been announced, surpassing 7.71 million viewers and $70,063,694 (according to the Eiga Tsushinsha).

This film, a sequel to the fourth season of the TV anime "Haikyuu!! TO THE TOP," which aired in 2020, is produced as a two-part theatrical series. The first part depicts the third round of the Spring High tournament, Karasuno High vs. Nekoma High, also known as the "Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump," one of the most popular episodes in the original manga. This episode follows the Inarizaki High match depicted in the fourth season of "Haikyuu!! TO THE TOP."

"Haikyuu!!" is based on the manga of the same name serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from February 2012 to July 2020, and it is a coming-of-age story centered on high school volleyball. Set in Miyagi Prefecture, it follows the protagonist Shoyo Hinata, who belongs to the Karasuno High School volleyball team and aims to become the "Small Giant," a legendary ace of the former volleyball team. Along with his teammates, including the genius setter Tobio Kageyama, known as the "King of the Court," he strives to improve and grow.

The manga series has surpassed 60 million copies in circulation, and the TV anime has had four seasons: the first in 2014, the second in 2015, the third in 2016, and the fourth in 2020.
