The Elusive Samurai Manga Concludes in Weekly Shonen Jump; Kagurabachi Ends Part One and Enters New Arc
The Elusive Samurai manga has officially concluded in Weekly Shonen Jump, marking the end of Yusei Matsui acclaimed historical series. In the February 16 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump published by Shueisha, The Elusive Samurai reached its final chapter.

Serialized since January 2021, The Elusive Samurai is the latest work by Yusei Matsui, best known for Neuro: Supernatural Detective and Assassination Classroom. Set in Kamakura in 1333, the story follows Hojo Tokiyuki, the final heir of the Kamakura shogunate and a young warlord famed as the greatest master of escape.
The narrative begins with the sudden rebellion of Ashikaga Takauji, which leads to the fall of the Kamakura shogunate. At just eight years old, Tokiyuki loses his family and status in the uprising. However, he possesses extraordinary talent in fleeing and surviving. Recognized for his abilities by Suwa Yorishige, a Shinto priest from Shinano Province, Tokiyuki embarks on a path where escape itself becomes his weapon, transforming him into a hero.

The series depicts his wandering life, concealment, and eventual counterattacks during the turbulent Northern and Southern Courts period. Total circulation has surpassed 4.5 million copies.
The final volume, Volume 27, is scheduled for release on October 2 in Japan. The second season of the television anime adaptation is also set to premiere in July.
