Live Action ONE PIECE Season 2 Unveils Full Trailer as the Straw Hat Pirates Prepare for Their First Official Visit to Japan
The streaming service Netflix has announced that the Netflix live action series ONE PIECE Season 2, titled INTO THE GRAND LINE, will be released worldwide exclusively starting March 10. Alongside the announcement, the full trailer and new scene photos depicting the Straw Hat Pirates’ next adventure as they enter the Grand Line have been unveiled.

Based on the globally popular manga ONE PIECE by Eiichiro Oda, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump published by Shueisha, the series is a grand maritime adventure following Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they set sail across the vast seas. Season 1, released in 2023, ranked highly across multiple countries and received widespread acclaim.
The Grand Line Adventure and the Threat of Baroque Works
The setting for Season 2 is the Grand Line, a brutal sea where the climate rages violently, powerful figures gather, and creatures that defy common sense thrive. Luffy, portrayed by Iñaki Godoy, embarks on a new great adventure together with his companions, each driven by their own ambitious dreams. His crew includes Zoro portrayed by Mackenyu Arata, Nami portrayed by Emily Rudd, Usopp portrayed by Jacob Romero Gibson, and Sanji portrayed by Taz Skylar. Drawing strength from their bonds, the Straw Hat Pirates push forward into uncharted territory.
However, a series of formidable trials soon descends upon the crew. At the center of these threats is the secret criminal organization Baroque Works, which is plotting a ruthless scheme capable of entangling entire nations.
In the newly released footage, a succession of eccentric and dangerous agents appears, and for certain reasons, the Straw Hat Pirates become their primary targets. The resulting ordeals threaten to shake the very bonds that hold the crew together. In their attempt to stop Baroque Works’ sinister plan, the Straw Hat Pirates are drawn into intense battles filled with conspiracies and traps.
During their journey, the crew arrives at the winter island of Drum Island, where they encounter Tony Tony Chopper, a reindeer with a fluffy appearance, a trademark hat, and a blue nose. Chopper, voiced in English by Michaela Hoover, is a highly skilled doctor burdened by a tragic past. The footage offers glimpses of his story, along with appearances by Dr. Hiriluk and Dr. Kureha.

The trailer also showcases not only Drum Island but many of the islands the crew visits along their voyage. These include Rogue Town, known as the town of beginnings and endings, Reverse Mountain, a mountain where four canals converge, Twin Cape, home to the giant whale Laboon, the mysterious town of Whiskey Peak, and Little Garden, an island inhabited by prehistoric creatures and giants.
Among these highlights, the scenes set in Little Garden stand out, featuring the giants Dorry and Brogy, who have been locked in a duel for years and rampage across the battlefield. Their overwhelming presence emphasizes the increased scale of the series and heightens anticipation for the live action adaptation of one of the manga’s most beloved arcs.
Eiichiro Oda's Message

Original creator Eiichiro Oda shared a full message regarding Season 2, stating that production is nearly complete. Reflecting on Season 1, he noted that it directly answered the long held question of whether ONE PIECE could truly be adapted into live action, achieving Top 10 rankings in 93 countries and regions and reaching No.1 in 46 of them.
Reuniting once again with the outstanding Hollywood staff who delivered such remarkable results, Oda emphasized that Season 2 now ventures into the world’s toughest sea, the Grand Line. He described this as a bold break from the conventions established in Season 1.
He went on to highlight that powerful ability users will appear one after another, alongside gigantic humanlike beings never seen before, adorable creatures, intense action scenes, and advanced visual effects. According to Oda, the highlights continue without pause, and he encouraged viewers to fully immerse themselves in an experience that only live action can deliver.
Addressing the adventurous spirit around the world, he concluded by saying that with just one month left until departure, audiences should eagerly look forward to the journey ahead.
It was also announced that a world tour will take place from February 23 to March 14, with events held in 13 locations worldwide, including Japan. Cast members Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu Arata as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji are all scheduled to visit Japan. This marks the first time the Straw Hat Pirates will make an official visit together as a complete cast. On March 5, they are set to attend a preview screening and fan event in Tokyo.
