Detective Conan x My Hero Academia Collaboration Revealed With Special PV as Aoyama Gosho and Horikoshi Kohei Draw Each Other’s Characters

Detective Conan and My Hero Academia come together in a historic crossover project to mark two major milestones: the 30th anniversary of the Detective Conan TV anime and the 10th anniversary of the My Hero Academia TV anime.

A Special PV Celebrating a Double Anniversary

The special collaboration was officially unveiled during the ending segment of today’s broadcast of Detective Conan on January 31, where the collaboration PV premiered for the first time.

Takayama, and Izuku Midoriya, voiced by Daiki Yamashita, deliver a dual narration. Their voices intertwine throughout the video, culminating in the shared line “Two timelines become one,” a powerful phrase symbolizing the rare and celebratory moment of this double memorial year.

Adding to the significance of the project, Detective Conan creator Gosho Aoyama and My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi contributed newly drawn illustrations for the collaboration. Aoyama illustrated Izuku Midoriya, while Horikoshi created a special illustration of Conan Edogawa. These one of a kind visuals show each character through the distinct artistic style of the other creator and serve as mutual congratulations for their respective anniversaries. Both illustrations are featured within the special PV.

Beyond the crossover itself, Detective Conan is also preparing several anniversary projects, including a collaboration episode with the long running Yomiuri TV program Japan International Birdman Rally, as well as a two hour special broadcast, the first of its kind in ten years. Meanwhile, My Hero Academia will air episode No.170 plus one, titled “More,” on May 2 at 5:30 PM JST on the Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV network. This episode adapts an additional story originally drawn by Horikoshi for the final volume of the manga.
