Golden Kamuy Final Arc Episode 4 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Boutarou Sets Out to Find Sugimoto, but His True Aim Is…?

The story and preview images for Episode 4 of the Final Arc of the TV anime Golden Kamuy (JP: ゴールデンカムイ) have been revealed. This episode will air on Monday, January 26 at 11:00 PM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 4 Story

As Hijikata and his group secure Ostrog’s body and prepare to withdraw, Sugimoto and his allies are left behind inside the beer factory, now engulfed in flames and smoke. Upon learning this, Boutarou heads out to search for them. However, his objective is not rescue.

Betraying Sugimoto, Boutarou seizes the tattooed skins that Asirpa and Kadokura were carrying. When Asirpa attempts to resist, he whispers to her to forget about the Ainu people and the gold, and instead become a family with Sugimoto.

Just then, Koito of the Seventh Division appears, triggering a fierce clash between the two sides.

Having returned from Sakhalin to Hokkaido, “Immortal Sugimoto” Saichi Sugimoto and the Ainu girl Asirpa set out once again on their search for the gold, together with Yoshitake Shiraishi. Along the way, they join forces with the escaped convict and pirate Boutarou the Pirate, then head for Sapporo, where another escaped convict, Keiji Ueji, is believed to have gone as their next target.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Tsurumi of the Seventh Division, having allowed Sugimoto and Asirpa to escape, continues collecting the tattooed skins while also searching for Asirpa, who holds the key to unraveling the mystery of the gold. Suspecting an escaped convict to be behind a series of prostitute murders that occur in Sapporo, he dispatches Sergeant Major Kikuta and Private First Class Usami. At the same time, however, the Shinsengumi’s “Demon Vice-Commander,” Toshizo Hijikata, and his group set into motion with the same objective.
