The Saichi Sugimoto volume compiles episodes from across the entire manga that depict the life and struggles of the man known as “Immortal Sugimoto.” In addition to the selected story chapters, the book includes special interlude sections such as the Gold Rush Pursuit Chronicle, which traces the progress of the gold hunt, and the Northern Land Survival Guide, introducing knowledge and skills Sugimoto learned from Asirpa throughout their journey.

Golden Kamuy is set in Hokkaido during the Meiji era and follows Saichi Sugimoto, a former soldier who teams up with the Ainu girl Asirpa in a high-stakes quest for a massive hidden fortune said to have been left behind by the Ainu people. The original manga was serialized in Weekly Young Jump from 2014 to 2022 and has received numerous awards, including the Manga Taisho 2016. Total circulation of the series has surpassed 30 million copies.
The franchise has also expanded into a live-action film and multiple anime seasons, with the final anime arc currently airing.
