Golden Kamuy Final Arc Episode 3 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Hijikata’s Group Continues the Pursuit After Ostrog Escapes

The story and preview images for Episode 3 of the Final Arc of the TV anime Golden Kamuy (JP: ゴールデンカムイ) have been revealed. This episode will air on Monday, January 19 at 11:00 PM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 3 Story

Although Hijikata and his allies fail to stop Michael Ostrog’s escape, they continue their pursuit by relying on the tracking abilities of Anji Toni and Rikimatsu Ariko. Cornered, Ostrog sets fire to the straw-wrapped bundles at a packing site and makes another daring escape.

Meanwhile, Kadokura, who has been relentlessly chased by Tokishige Usami, is finally captured and loses the tattooed human skin entrusted to him by Hijikata. At that moment, Hyakunosuke Ogata appears, triggering an intense battle with Usami.

Elsewhere, Asirpa becomes separated from Saichi Sugimoto and steps into the engine room alone, only to encounter the fleeing Ostrog once again.

Having returned from Sakhalin to Hokkaido, “Immortal Sugimoto” Saichi Sugimoto and the Ainu girl Asirpa set out once again on their search for the gold, together with Yoshitake Shiraishi. Along the way, they join forces with the escaped convict and pirate Boutarou the Pirate, then head for Sapporo, where another escaped convict, Keiji Ueji, is believed to have gone as their next target.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Tsurumi of the Seventh Division, having allowed Sugimoto and Asirpa to escape, continues collecting the tattooed skins while also searching for Asirpa, who holds the key to unraveling the mystery of the gold. Suspecting an escaped convict to be behind a series of prostitute murders that occur in Sapporo, he dispatches Sergeant Major Kikuta and Private First Class Usami. At the same time, however, the Shinsengumi’s “Demon Vice-Commander,” Toshizo Hijikata, and his group set into motion with the same objective.
