Sentenced to Be a Hero Episode 3 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Norgalle Rallies the Miners, But the Boggarts Close In

The story and preview images for Episode 3 of the TV anime Sentenced to Be a Hero: The Prison Records of Penal Hero Unit 9004 (JP: 勇者刑に処す 懲罰勇者9004隊刑務記録) have been revealed. This episode will air on Thursday, January 22 from 10:30 PM to 11:00 PM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 3 Story

Deep within the mine tunnels, Xylo discovers a group of trapped miners and attempts to lead them to safety while fending off attacking Boggarts. Norgalle steps forward to rally the exhausted miners, encouraging them to fight on and regain their resolve. However, they are gradually overwhelmed by a swarm of Boggarts, and the creatures’ fangs draw dangerously close to the miners’ foreman.

Introduction

A hero is the worst punishment in this world.

Those who commit grave sins are sentenced to become “heroes” and are forced to fight the Demon King as their punishment. Even if they are killed, they are revived, never permitted the mercy of death.

Xylo Forbart, a former captain of the Holy Knight Order who has been condemned to hero punishment, leads a penal hero unit made up of deeply flawed individuals as they charge through the front lines of battle.

Amid these brutal conditions, Xylo encounters one of the strongest living weapons in existence, the “Goddess of the Sword,” Theoritta.

“When the enemy is annihilated, you shall praise me… and then stroke my head.”

In order to survive, and to exact revenge on those who cast him into this fate, Xylo enters into a contract with the “goddess.” Throwing himself into a hopeless world, he plunges headlong into a vortex of fierce battles and dark conspiracies.
