However, their peaceful retreat takes an unexpected turn when they encounter Yura, a shrine maiden of the Kingdom of Kaien, who has been secretly monitoring their movements. Soon, Rimuru and his allies are drawn into an incident that threatens the peace of Kaien. The kingdom’s chancellor Djeese, known as the greatest genius since Kaien’s founding, warns the king of an impending invasion. He attempts to awaken the Water Dragon, the kingdom’s guardian deity, using a flute known as the Dragon Fang, an artifact that allows one to connect their heart with the dragon.

At the same time, Yura, who has been offering prayers to the Water Dragon, believes it must not be awakened. She takes the flute and heads to the surface to seek help. Acting on Djeese’s orders, Minister Zodon pursues Yura. Responding to Elmesia’s request for assistance, Rimuru and his companions head to the Kingdom of Kaien, where they confront conspiracies swirling deep beneath the sea.
