Alongside the announcement, a special promotional video and the official story synopsis were revealed. In Season 4, the Jura Tempest Federation hosts a Founding Festival and establishes diplomatic relations with various nations, taking its first major steps toward realizing a world where humans and monsters coexist peacefully, known as the Human Monster Co Prosperity Sphere.

Although Tempest thrives by overcoming racial divisions and uniting different species, tensions begin to rise behind the scenes. Certain factions grow wary of the increasing influence of Demon Lord Rimuru.

Among them is Granbell Rosso, the former hero and head of the Five Elders of the Kingdom of Siltrosso, along with his granddaughter Mariabell Rosso. Advocating the protection of humanity through absolute control, Granbell and Mariabell set their schemes in motion, eventually clashing directly with Rimuru.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime follows Satoru Mikami, an ordinary office worker who dies after being stabbed and is reincarnated in another world as a slime named Rimuru. Gaining powerful skills, Rimuru sets out to build a nation where all races can live together in harmony, expanding his circle of allies through wisdom and courage.

The television anime first premiered in October 2018. Season 2 aired in two parts from January to March and July to September 2021, followed by a theatrical anime film released in 2022. Season 3 aired from April to September 2024. A brand new film, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime The Movie Tears of the Blue Sea Arc, is scheduled for release on February 27, 2026.
