The story and preview images for Episode 1 of the TV anime You Can't Be in a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends! (JP: 幼馴染とはラブコメにならない) have been revealed. This episode will air on Tuesday, January 6 at 12:00 AM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 1 Story

Yonosuke Sakai (nicknamed Eiyu), a first-year high school student, has a serious problem. His two childhood friends, Shio and Akari, are just too cute. If they ever found out that he sometimes looks at them with “lewd, grown-up thoughts,” it would be unbearably embarrassing.

And yet, Shio sneaks into his bed every morning, leaving them physically way too close, while Akari constantly picks fights with him for no apparent reason. The situation keeps edging closer to something straight out of a romantic comedy, but Eiyu firmly believes that real life does not work that way.

However, unbeknownst to him, his two childhood friends may be harboring feelings of their own.
