Mr. Clice Manga Cover
Mr. Clice is a manga by Osamu Akimoto, the creator of the legendary long running series KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops. The story follows Jin Kurisu (Clice), a top tier super spy who dies in an accident during a mission. His brain is transplanted into a woman’s body, allowing him to return to life. Determined to earn recognition from his superiors and regain his original male body, Kurusu takes on dangerous missions while traveling across the globe. The series blends fast paced spy action with sharp gag comedy.
The manga began serialization in Monthly Shonen Jump in 1985 and is currently serialized in Jump SQ.RISE. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the series, the production of a new anime has been officially confirmed. The latest chapter of the original manga is scheduled to be published in Jump SQ.RISE 2026 WINTER, set for release in late January next year.
On the same day, a new anime project for KochiKame titled Shin KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops was also announced. As the project name suggests, the series will feature a refreshed approach with a brand new cast. Animation production will be handled by Gallop. This marks the first full scale new KochiKame anime production in ten years, since 2016. Details regarding the new cast are scheduled to be revealed in September 2026.
