The television anime My Hero Academia, commonly known as HeroAca, reached its conclusion with Episode 11 of My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON, the 170th episode overall, titled “My Hero Academia.” The final episode aired on December 13 on the Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV network during its regular Saturday evening broadcast slot.
On the same day, a special marathon screening event titled “My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON ULTRA SCREENING” was held in Tokyo to celebrate the end of the series.
The event was attended by Daiki Yamashita as Izuku Midoriya, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Katsuki Bakugo, Ayane Sakura as Ochaco Uraraka, Kaito Ishikawa as Tenya Iida, Marina Inoue as Momo Yaoyorozu, Yuu Hatanaka as Denki Kaminari, Kenta Miyake as All Might, and Koki Uchiyama as Tomura Shigaraki.
A Playful Debate Over Kaminari and Jiro’s Distance
As the cast reflected on recording stories and nearly ten years with the series, discussion turned to the final episode, which depicts the heroes eight years later.
In the epilogue, Denki Kaminari is shown having gone independent as a pro hero and opening his own office next to that of Kyoka Jiro. The in story explanation given is that Kaminari felt uneasy being on his own after going solo.
Hatanaka could not help but question the implication, jokingly asking, “What is that distance supposed to mean? So what exactly is going on between Kaminari and Jiro?” as he attempted to dig deeper into the subject.
Sensing the conversation heading into sensitive territory, Sakura quickly interjected, urging him to stop the discussion. Hatanaka protested that he was simply curious, but Ishikawa calmly stepped in, stating that friendship is not defined by gender and that being comrades transcends such distinctions.
With that, Hatanaka agreed, responding that Ishikawa was right. Sakura then neatly wrapped up the topic by saying that what is currently depicted is everything there is, skillfully steering the conversation away before it crossed into dangerous speculation.
