The original manga by Kohei Horikoshi began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014 and officially concluded on August 5, 2024. Like the anime adaptation, the manga also came to an end after nearly ten years, marking the close of an era for the globally popular series.

The television anime ran for a total of eight seasons through Season 8. Daiki Yamashita, who voiced the protagonist Izuku Midoriya, reflected on the journey, saying that My Hero Academia is a work created through the combined One For All spirit of every individual involved, each driven by the desire to share the story that Horikoshi poured his soul into with as many people as possible. He expressed pride in having been part of that collective effort.

Yamashita continued by stating that as long as Deku and the other characters continue moving forward while reaching out a helping hand as true heroes, he too wishes to keep facing forward sincerely and walk onward with the irreplaceable people he met through this series.
