About Medalist

Medalist follows the journey of Inori Yuitsuka, a young skater who begins to bloom with extraordinary talent, and Tsukasa Akeuraji, a seasoned skater who grows into his role as a coach. Moved by Inori’s burning determination for the ice, Tsukasa decides to guide her, portraying the story of both Inori’s awakening as an athlete and Tsukasa’s evolution as an instructor.

The anime is based on the manga by Ikada Tsuruma, serialized in Afternoon since 2020. The series has earned numerous accolades, including first place in the Comics Category at the 2022 Next Manga Awards, the General Category of the 68th Shogakukan Manga Award, and Best Leading Actress at the 2022 Magademy Awards for Inori Yuitsuka. Despite being the creator’s debut work, Medalist has become a widely celebrated title.

Season 1 aired from January to March 2025. Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on January 24, 2026, on the NUMAnimation programming block across 24 TV Asahi network stations.
