The latest entry in the long-running Super Sentai franchise, Number One Sentai Gozyuger (airs every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on the TV Asahi network), broadcast episode 39, “燃える密着！見せてやるんだ指輪のパワー！ (Burning Intensity! I’ll Show You the Power of the Rings!)” on the 23rd. At the end of the episode, the preview for episode 40 was unveiled.

Because of the Haunted House No-One, the Tega Sword village and the city are transformed into a massive haunted house. People forced to play the “ghost” roles and those being scared out of their wits throw the town into total chaos. When the Gozyuger team storms the terrifying attraction to restore everything back to normal, they find Bouquet (Marupi) and Ribbon (voiced by Mariya Ise) waiting for them. Separated from Ribbon, Bouquet trembles in fear of the ghosts—until she has a fateful reunion with her beloved Rikuo Byakuya (Hideharu Suzuki), leading to a heart-pounding turn of events as the two grow closer.

The “Haunted House Number One Battle” soon kicks off, and Rikuo—who always strives to bring smiles to everyone’s faces—steps up to take a stand.

Starting with episode 40, airing on the 30th, actor Kohaku Shida (21) will appear as Sumino Ichikawa / Gozyu Unicorn, a role previously played by Maya Imamori (19), who left the series after it was discovered she had been drinking alcohol despite being underage. A new visual of Shida in character was revealed on the official X account, prompting comments from fans such as “She’s way too cute,” “Number one savior,” and “She’s totally the new Sumi-poyo!”
