The guest cast for Episode 38 of the latest Super Sentai installment Number One Sentai Gozyuger (airs Sundays at 9:30 a.m. on TV Asahi) has been revealed. The episode, titled “Judgment: Ring Hunter,” dives into the past of Kuon (Karuma) and the reason he became a Ring Hunter.

A man who knows that secret, Koyo Iwao (played by Ryosei Konishi), appears before him. To Kuon, Koyo was a benefactor who once looked after him and Hoeru Tono (Mio Fuyuno) during their childhood in the No-One World. Now a warrior chosen by a ring, Koyo engages Kuon in a fierce battle, wagering everything on their rings.

As the Gozyugers encounter Kuon and Koyo locked in combat, they are suddenly attacked by Ribbon (voiced by Mariya Ise). Ribbon traps not only the Gozyugers and Koyo, but even Kuon himself inside a mysterious prison. Forced into a corner, the Gozyugers and Kuon must work together to find a way out.

On this particular broadcast, the opening sequence was removed due to production circumstances. Even so, fans posted on X that it “didn’t feel out of place,” especially with the appearance of such a pivotal character.

During the episode, Koyo uses the power of his ring to engage as Premier Decker Red. He corners Garyuudo, Kuon’s transformed state, and attempts to carry out a judgment. However, in an ironic twist, an “X” symbol appears instead—reversing the attack back onto him.
It was also revealed that Kuon has learned the Aryees language, adding another surprising layer to the packed episode.
