TV Asahi announced on the 15th that actor Kohaku Shida (志田こはく, age:21) will join the latest Super Sentai series No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger as Sumino Ichikawa / Gozyu Unicorn starting with Episode 40, airing on the 30th.

The broadcaster stated, “Beginning with Episode 40 on Sunday the 30th, Kohaku Shida will appear as Sumino Ichikawa / Gozyu Unicorn,” officially confirming the casting change. The previous actor, Maya Imamori (19), stepped down from the role after Toei announced on the 8th that it had confirmed underage drinking.

Following the announcement, fans shared excited messages such as “Thank you, Kohaku-chan!” and “Will we get to see a driving scene?”

Kohaku Shida

Shida previously played the heroine Haruka Kito / Oni Sister in Avataro Sentai Donbrothers (2022). Despite being the youngest main cast member, her bold and expressive acting made her a fan favorite.

Gozyu Unicorn: Sumino Ichikawa

Cool-headed but able to use charm when necessary, Sumino once aimed to become a police officer and attended a police academy. However, after a certain incident, she became alienated by her colleagues and ended up as something of an outcast. She now works as a “high-class detective” well-known in certain circles, taking on part-time jobs whenever she has no cases.
