Five Voice Actors Gather in Shibuya on the Eve of the “Shibuya Incident” for Jujutsu Kaisen Special Screening Event; Film Runtime Announced as 88 Minutes — “Itadori Suffers All the Way Through”

On October 30, a special pre-screening event for Jujutsu Kaisen The Movie: Shibuya Incident Special Compilation × Culling Game Advance Screening (set for release in Japan on November 7) was held at TOHO Cinemas Shibuya in Tokyo. Voice actors Junya Enoki (Yuji Itadori), Asami Seto (Nobara Kugisaki), Takahiro Sakurai (Suguru Geto), Daisuke Namikawa (Choso), and Nobunaga Shimazaki (Mahito) took the stage. Taking place on the eve of the “Shibuya Incident” (in-story date: October 31), the event brought together the key voice actors whose characters play vital roles in the series’ most intense arc.

Although the event did not include a screening, it began with lighthearted banter among the cast. When Enoki started by saying, “I’m excited for everyone to finally see it today…,” Seto quickly corrected him with, “You can see it next week!” prompting laughter. The actors joked, “I thought so too until just now!” and “We rehearsed backstage—what happened?” creating a friendly atmosphere from the start. Seto smiled as she added, “Tomorrow is a very important day for Jujutsu Kaisen, and I’m truly happy to be part of this event here in Shibuya.”

When reminded that the anime’s “Shibuya Incident” arc aired over two years ago, the voice actors exchanged surprised looks. Enoki joked, “It finally feels like I’ve met Sakurai-san properly for the first time. I thought, ‘So this is Geto!’” since their characters rarely appeared together during the original broadcast.

It was also revealed that the movie has a runtime of 88 minutes. Enoki expressed confidence in the condensed format, saying, “It doesn’t feel like a digest version—every part is satisfying.” He added with a wry smile, “Itadori suffers all the way through. Eighty-eight minutes of pain.”

When Namikawa sympathized, saying, “All that pain just keeps piling up,” Shimazaki, who voices the antagonist Mahito, cheerfully interjected, “I’m here! We’re here for you!” Namikawa immediately quipped back with a laugh, “You’re not there,” highlighting the fact that Mahito is Itadori’s enemy, not someone who would stand by his side.
